Some highlights
- An 8 hour spinathon challenge (8 hours on a spin bike ouch) - leaving this one up here as it was the first challenge I did and while I didn't get a medal :-) it inspired me to do more.
- Endurance Cyclothon at Brandshatch - brilliant laugh and highly recommend
- Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons x several
- Lots and lots of sportives too many to mention them all but including a very special 80 mile Bath to Bournemouth Ride for the British Heart Foundation www.bhf.org.uk in loving memory of my dear departed father.
- My biggest cycling challenge has been the 9 day Ride Across Britain from John O'Groats to Lands End in 2013 in aid of the Bath Rugby Foundation. I was one of around 30 riders for the charity and together we raised 100k.
- Bath Half Marathon 2015 - absolutely awful horrendous time of 2.22 but hey I completed it - running is my nemesis it can only get better from here.
- Bath Half Marathon 2016 - 2.09 - PB get in :-)
- Corsham 10k - best time yet at 57.59 :-) I know move over Paula Radcliffe ...ahem
- Lots of Open water swimming - love, love, love it!
- The Cotswolds Classic half iron man in 6.08 in 2015
- 2016 - no events due to accident and injury.
- Ironman Zurich 2017 - Finished in 14.14.52 "I am an ironman" absolutely the best experience of my life!
- Dart 10k swim - 2.40 mins - serious decent current pushing us along that day! I will never swim that fast again.
- Ironman Santa Rosa 2018 - Finished in 13.05.41 - Second ironman and a decent PB with more than an hour off my previous time.
- Edinburgh Ultra Marathon - October 2018
- Ironman Lanzarote 2019 - finished - Third Ironman, which to be honest almost broke me. PB swim but overall my slowest finish time 15:49. Lots to be proud of but also plenty to learn from and a big reality check at my ability.
- Hoala Training Swim, Hawaii 2019 - First non-wet suit swim at 3.8k distance. A decent 1hr :20 mins
- Next year.... the 2020 plan
- Dropping down a distance to Half distance / 70.3 triathlons. I am working on my pace across all three disciplines. After Lanzarote, I decided I don't ever want to be out on a course that long ever again. While it is billed as the worlds toughest ironman and it is not an easy course on reflection I am simply not as fit as I want to be to take part in long distance. I don't want to just finish. I want to finish strong.
